LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of a course, students will be able to perform as indicated in each of the following areas: 1. Listening comprehension: a. Follow a class conducted in Tibetan. b. Demonstrate an understanding of a native speaker who speaks slowly and clearly. c. Demonstrate an understanding of the main ideas of native audio or video files. 2. Speaking: a. Pronounce well enough to be understood by a native speaker b. Express basic ideas and opinions based on concrete life experiences issues. 3. Reading: a. Demonstrate an understanding of the main ideas in linguistically non-complex texts. 4. Writing: a. Write short compositions on specific topics related to everyday situations b. Use basic grammatical, linguistic, and idiomatic forms with some degree of control while developing rudimentary skills in the use of more complex structures 5. Cultural information: a. Demonstrate an understanding of the cultural diversity of the Tibetan -speaking world and be able to compare the foreign culture with his/her own in an informal manner. Methodology Our online Accelerated Learning Tibetan courses are designed to provide students with Tibetan language knowledge. Students will develop critical thinking skills by implementing the different components of the Tibetan Language.
Description: This online course is designed for learners of intermediate Tibetan. In this course, you will learn how to communicate more effectively in the Tibetan language. You will be guided through listening, speaking, reading, and writing activities that are tailored to your skill level. Additionally, you will be provided with listening and reading comprehension exercises to help improve your understanding of the language. By the end of this course, you should be able to communicate in Tibetan with a greater degree of accuracy and fluency. Course materials include audio recordings, quizzes, interactive activities, and other resources. The goal of this course is to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the Tibetan language and its uses. Throughout this course, you will be encouraged to practice and apply what you have learned in order to increase your understanding and confidence when speaking Tibetan. Objectives: - Greetings and Introductions: In this module, you will be introduced to the basics of conversation in Tibetan. This includes basic greetings and introductions such as asking about people’s names and where they are from. - Basic Conversation: In this module, you will learn more about the fundamentals of conversation in Tibetan. This includes topics such as forming questions and understanding basic grammar structures. - Listening Comprehension: In this module, you will be listening to a variety of audio recordings in Tibetan and answering comprehension questions. This will help you to develop your listening skills and comprehension of spoken Tibetan. - Speaking Practice: In this module, you will be practicing speaking in Tibetan. This includes activities such as role-playing conversations and describing images in Tibetan. - Reading Comprehension: In this module, you will be reading passages in Tibetan and answering comprehension questions. This will help you to improve your reading and comprehension skills. - Writing Practice: In this module, you will be writing in Tibetan. This includes activities such as creating short essays or responding to opinion questions. Methodology: Our online Accelerated Learning courses are designed to provide participants with opportunities to develop critical thinking skills by implementing the different components of the Tibetan Language. This class will give students the opportunity to grow their listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities. Course Structure: Each unit will focus on a different listening, speaking, reading, or writing skill. The course will include listening activities, conversation practice, reading assignments, and written tasks. Listening: During the listening portion of the class, participants will practice high-level listening skills. Speaking: In order to further speaking skills, students will practice speaking using abstract vocabulary with fluency. Reading: During reading activities, students will be asked to read different texts. Writing: For the writing portion of the course, students will be given written tasks related to listening, speaking, or reading activities. With the combination of listening, speaking, reading, and writing activities, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the language. By the completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate an advanced level of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
